Basketball Game Preview: Hackett Hornets vs. Mountainburg Dragons

The Hackett Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Mountainburg Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Hackett will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Danville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Hackett blew past Danville, posting a 52-20 victory. The game marked the Hornets' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Mountainburg was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Westside 57-19. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Mountainburg has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Hackett, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-9.

Hackett ended up a good deal behind Mountainburg when the teams last played back in November of 2023, losing 57-38. Can Hackett avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
