Baseball Recap: Roanoke Catholic Gets the Win

Roanoke Catholic was forced to take a big loss against they on Thursday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fleming Colonels, sneaking past 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Celtics: when they faced off against the Colonels on Thursday, they had to take a 9-3 defeat.

Roanoke Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mason Williams, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The Celtics are 2-1 when Williams posts two or more runs, but 1-13 otherwise. Another was Noah Peck, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Roanoke Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fleming only posted a batting average of .143.

Roanoke Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-14. As for Fleming, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.
