 Carmel hasn't had much luck against St. Francis recently, but that could start to change  on Monday. The Padres will square off against the Sharks at 4:00  p.m. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
On Wednesday, Carmel earned  a  21-13 win over Salinas. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Padres.
Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for St. Francis, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Wednesday. They put the hurt on Watsonville with a sharp  40-15 victory on Monday. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by 20  points or more this season.
Carmel better keep an eye on  Liliana Whitmeyer. She was instrumental in St. Francis' win, throwing for 241 yards and four  TDs, while also rushing for 92 yards and one  touchdown on only nine carries. Whitmeyer's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain her lofty yards per carry total.  Cami Madrigal was  Whitmeyer's top target, picking up 41 receiving yards and a pair of  scores, while also rushing for 48 yards.
 St. Francis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Eden Findrick and  Whitmeyer. Another thorn in Watsonville's side was  Evonna Jordan, who picked up  three  sacks and made five total tackles.
 Carmel's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for St. Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.
 Carmel came up short against St. Francis when the teams last played  back in September, falling  32-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of   Whitmeyer, who threw for 306 yards and a pair of  TDs while completing 83.9% of her passes, and also punched in one  touchdown on the ground.
