Basketball Recap: Northview Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Northview and East Grand Rapids, and Northview kept the tradition alive. The Northview Wildcats took down the East Grand Rapids Pioneers 65-48 on Wednesday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st in Michigan, while the Pioneers are ranked 229th in Michigan), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northview pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for East Grand Rapids, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Looking ahead, Northview will be taking part in a tournament against Forest Hills Northern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hills Northern knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Northview likes a good challenge. East Grand Rapids does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
