Football Game Preview: Norfolk Panthers vs. Creighton Prep Junior Jays

The Norfolk Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Creighton Prep Junior Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Norfolk lost to Elkhorn South on the road by a 34-19 margin.

Despite the loss, Norfolk got top-tier performance from Drew Streich, who picked up 167 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Streich was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 58 yards. Parker Rabbass was another key player, throwing for 248 yards and one TD.

While Norfolk came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Elkhorn South: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 43.8%. The team can thank Tanner Wagner for the heroic effort on defense: he. Norfolk hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.48 or higher in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Creighton Prep faced Omaha Westside in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Junior Jays had to suffer through a 52-20 loss at the hands of the Warriors. The Junior Jays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Angelo Wallker and Tay Tay Jenkins. Jenkins had a great game and gained 235 total yards and five touchdowns. Meanwhile, Wallker did his best for the losing side, rushing for 89 yards and one touchdown.

Norfolk's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Creighton Prep, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Norfolk might still be hurting after the 45-20 defeat they got from Creighton Prep in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
