Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Wenonah's 18th in Last 19 Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Wenonah rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Moody Blue Devils out 62-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dragons have posted since December 10, 2024.

Samarian Franklin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 35 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wenonah's points. Zariah Evans was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Wenonah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive matchups.

Wenonah is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season. As for Moody, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season.

Coming up, Wenonah will take on Jacksonville at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Jacksonville will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Wenonah surely won't give up without a fight. Moody does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
