Basketball Game Preview: Lutheran Warriors vs. Annapolis Cougars

The Lutheran Warriors will head out to square off against the Annapolis Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lutheran has three straight victories, Annapolis has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Lutheran escaped with a win against Clarenceville by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56.

Jayden Means was nothing short of spectacular: he went 6-for-10 on his way to 22 points and four steals. Means is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Nathan Yakobe was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Annapolis was beaten by Crestwood 81-35 on Friday.

Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Annapolis, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Lutheran came up short against Annapolis in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 52-47. Can Lutheran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
