Volleyball Recap: McFarland Comes Up Short

McFarland's tournament run continued when they took on Verona on Saturday. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Kayla Landerud paced McFarland's offense, picking up eight kills. Landerud got some help from Alex Faust and her 14 assists. Faust was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

McFarland's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Verona, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-5.

McFarland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Madison Memorial on the 27th. As for Verona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mount Horeb on the 27th.
