Volleyball Recap: Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers vs. St. John's Cadets

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Georgetown Day had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the St. John's Cadets 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Mighty Hoppers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-10.

Georgetown Day's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexa Gillespie, who had four aces. That's the most aces Gillespie has posted since back in September.

Georgetown Day couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 43.8% of their attack attempts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. John's only posted a hitting percentage of 11.3%.

Georgetown Day's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-1. As for St. John's, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-6.

As of now, neither Georgetown Day nor St. John's have any future games scheduled.
