Softball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short

After flying high against Putnam Vo-Tech last Wednesday, Commerce came back down to earth. The Red Raiders fell 9-4 to the Chicopee Comp Colts on Monday.

Gianna Perez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Nylah Santa, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Commerce has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Chicopee Comp, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Commerce and Chicopee Comp will both be playing Palmer the next time they take the field. The Red Raiders will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Colts will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
