Preview: Mountainair Mustangs vs. Ruidoso Warriors
The Mountainair Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Ruidoso Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Mountainair is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Mountainair came up short against To'hajiilee and fell 56-49.
Meanwhile, Ruidoso scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against McCurdy by a score of 81-72. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Logan Sandoval, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Augustine Saiz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Mountainair's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-7. As for Ruidoso, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
