Softball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

Franklin was the 16-1 winner over Fairview when they last played one another back in March of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Admirals fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday.

Morgan Bennett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Franklin dropped their record down to 3-18-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fairview, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will face off against Brentwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Admirals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fairview, they will challenge Montgomery Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
