Football Game Preview: Methuen Rangers vs. Andover Golden Warriors + How To Watch

The Methuen Rangers will head out on the road to square off against the Andover Golden Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Methuen is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Massachusetts' top teams: Tewksbury Memorial, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Methuen was ranked 17th). The Rangers lost 28-6 to the Redmen last Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rangers have suffered against the Redmen since September 16, 2016.

Meanwhile, Andover put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Haverhill for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 win. The Golden Warriors pushed the score to 42-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hillies had no chance of recovering from.

Methuen better focus on containing Marcus Dejesus and Kyle Olson as the pair were huge in Andover's win. Dejesus rushed for 163 yards and three TDs on only nine carries, while Olson rushed for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Dejesus a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Methuen fell to 2-1. As for Andover, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything came up roses for Methuen against Andover in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 37-10 win. Do the Rangers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
