Softball Game Preview: Woodson Cavaliers vs. Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association Patriots

The Woodson Cavaliers will be taking part in a tournament against the Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association Patriots at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Woodson, who comes in off a win.

Woodson gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Robinson.

Delaney Fleming was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Fleming was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kelby Lennen was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Maia Kim was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association's offense. They fell just short of St. Catherine's by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Woodson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
