Basketball Recap: Northglenn Takes a Loss

Northglenn fought the good fight in their overtime match against Westminster on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Westminster Wolves by a score of 54-51. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-52 last Saturday.

Despite the defeat, Northglenn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Scrivani dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. Scrivani's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Martin, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westminster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Michael Davidson, who had nine points and three steals. Davidson has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dennis Ross, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Northglenn has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Westminster, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.

Coming up, Northglenn will venture away from home to take on Prairie View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westminster, they and Brighton will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brighton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Westminster likes a good challenge.
