Baseball Recap: Irmo Comes Up Short

Irmo entered their game against River Bluff on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Irmo fell just short of River Bluff by a score of 4-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellow Jackets of the 5-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2018.

Irmo saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Parsons, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Caden Hall also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Irmo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for River Bluff, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

While Irmo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
