Basketball Game Preview: Peotone Blue Devils vs. Manteno Panthers

The Peotone Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Manteno Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Peotone has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Peotone is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Momence to the tune of 57-24 on Monday.

Peyton Bisping was a one-woman wrecking crew as she went 7-for-10 on her way to 20 points and three steals. Those 20 points gave her a new career-high. Payton Pape was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Peotone was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Watseka typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Manteno proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 57-52 win over the Warriors.

Manteno's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3. As for Peotone, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Peotone was dealt a bruising 57-23 loss at the hands of Manteno in their previous matchup back in December of 2025. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blue Devils were down 40-15.
