Softball Recap: De Pere Takes a Loss

De Pere's last matchup with Stevens Point could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Monday. The Redbirds lost 16-6 to the Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redbirds of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Julianne Bradford made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Bella Robinett, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

De Pere's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Stevens Point, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

De Pere and Stevens Point should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. The Redbirds (ranked 50th) will meet Manitowoc Lincoln (ranked 157th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Stevens Point will square off against Wausau West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (15 vs. 127).
