Basketball Recap: Jordan Washington's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Graceville over Bethlehem

Graceville and Bethlehem squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Graceville had to settle for second. They took a 47-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bethlehem Wildcats. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Graceville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jordan Washington, who posted 11 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryson Reynolds, who scored seven points and ten boards.

Kolton Amerson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bethlehem, putting up 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Amerson has scored at least a third of Bethlehem's points. Easton Lentz was another key player, posting nine points.

Graceville's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Bethlehem, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

While Graceville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
