Basketball Game Preview: Seagoville Dragons vs. West Mesquite Wranglers

The Seagoville Dragons will head out to square off against the West Mesquite Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Seagoville saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were beaten by Cleburne 57-28. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 878th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 282nd).

Meanwhile, West Mesquite didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Pinkston on Friday, but they still walked away with a 28-24 victory.

West Mesquite has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points per game. As for Seagoville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.

Everything went Seagoville's way against West Mesquite in their previous meeting back in January, as Seagoville made off with a 43-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seagoville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
