Basketball Recap: Statesville Christian's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gospel Light Christian, Statesville Christian was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They took down the North Hills Christian Eagles 64-49. The Lions pushed the score to 44-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

North Hills Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Noah Dendy and Zachary Strickland. Dendy went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points and three steals, while Strickland posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those three steals gave Dendy a new career-high.

Statesville Christian moved to 7-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for North Hills Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Statesville Christian will host Hickory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Hills Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Victory Christian Center at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Center will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something North Hills Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
