Football Recap: Teagan Leighton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Standley Lake over Air Academy + How To Watch

Standley Lake lost against Air Academy back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Gators fell 32-19 to the Kadets. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teagan Leighton, who rushed for 85 yards and one score, and also threw for 135 yards and one touchdown.

Cade Ballard went supernova For Air Academy., rushing for 108 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 115 yards and one touchdown. Those 108 rushing yards gave Ballard a new career-high. Max Schlichter was another key player, rushing for 74 yards and a pair of scores.

Standley Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Air Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Standley Lake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 55-28 defeat against Skyline on the 26th. As for Air Academy, they have also already played their next game, a 43-6 win against Sierra on the 26th.
