Softball Recap: Bowie Sets Scoring Season-High Against City View

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bowie). Everything went their way against the City View Mustangs on Tuesday as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Jackrabbits as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Kp Rutherford made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Rutherford was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Hanna Bell and Sadie Britt did most of the damage at the plate: Bell went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Britt went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Laci Goodwin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Bowie's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for City View, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Bowie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
