Basketball Recap: Southmont Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Southmont lost against Lebanon back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southmont Mounties fell 65-56 to the Lebanon Tigers.

When it comes to explaining why Southmont lost, don't look at Vince Reimondo. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Dean Mcgaughey, who posted nine points.

Lebanon had a senior duo take command as Jack Ferrell went 8 of 12 en route to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals and Kaden Lark dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ferrell has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Jones, who put up six points.

Southmont's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-4. As for Lebanon, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Southmont will face off against Tri-West Hendricks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tri-West Hendricks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Southmont surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lebanon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-38 loss against Plainfield on the 1st.
