 The Vernon Hills Cougars will head out to  face off against the Prairie Ridge Wolves  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
If Prairie Ridge heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Vernon Hills took over last week. The Cougars walked away with  a   35-22  win over Niles North  on Friday. The  victory was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won four  contests in a row.

 Giuseppe Urso had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 207 yards and three  touchdowns. Vernon Hills is undefeated when  Urso posts 80 or  more  rushing yards, but 2-4 otherwise.
 Urso was just one part of a punishing run game: Vernon Hills was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 264  rushing yards. The Cougars are  a perfect 4-0 when  they've run for more than 200 yards.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Prairie Ridge). They took their  game  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  54-26 win over Crystal Lake South. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 21  points or more this season.
 Prairie Ridge's record now sits at 9-0. As for Vernon Hills, they now  have a winning record of 5-4.
 Vernon Hills took a serious blow against Prairie Ridge  when the teams last played  back in October of 2021, falling  49-0. Can the Cougars avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
