Baseball Recap: Holly Pond Comes Up Short

Holly Pond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Appalachian Eagles, falling 14-1. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in March of 2018.

Holly Pond's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Appalachian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holly Pond will venture away from home to challenge Oneonta at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Appalachian, they will head out on the road to face off against Westminster School at Oak Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Appalachian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
