Volleyball Recap: Desert Vista Comes Up Short

Desert Vista was the 3-0 winner over Perry when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunder fell 2-0 to the Pumas on Saturday.

Desert Vista was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21.

Kenzie Maldonado paced Desert Vista's offense, picking up seven kills. Maldonado got some help from Emerson Ortiz and her 14 assists.

Desert Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Perry, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.

Coming up, Desert Vista will welcome Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Perry, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Chaparral on the 6th.
