Franklin Academy came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the East Wake Academy Eagles. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Franklin Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while East Wake Academy are ranked 323rd).

Nolan Fotheringham and Chase Liner scored all three of Franklin Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 28 goals.

Franklin Academy's record is now 14-2-1. As for East Wake Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
