Softball Recap: Pine Forest Has No Trouble Against Westover

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gray's Creek, Pine Forest was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Westover Wolverines with a sharp 18-1 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Mya Harris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Harris was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Savannah Winstead was a standout: she scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Green, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Pine Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .842. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westover only posted an OBP of .190.

The win got Pine Forest back to even at 1-1. As for Westover, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Pine Forest has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 loss against St. Pauls on the 6th. As for Westover, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-0 defeat against Pine Forest on the 7th.
