Basketball Recap: Burton's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Burton's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Iola Bulldogs by a score of 65-58. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Burton's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 10-12. As for Iola, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Burton Panthers duke it out with the Bremond Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iola, they will head out to face off against Snook at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
