With a playoff win on the line, Ganesha rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the Millikan Rams get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Giants as they're now sitting on 21 straight.
The result came thanks to Isabella Lopez's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Nevaeh Wilson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jules Alberto, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Ganesha's record is now 24-4-1. As for Millikan, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 20-9 record.
Looking ahead, Ganesha will head out on the road to challenge Santa Margarita at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Giants 1.4, the Eagles 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Millikan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
