Volleyball Recap: Munster Takes a Loss

Munster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Andrean Fighting 59ers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Fighting 59ers this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat on Saturday.

Munster was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-23, 25-17.

Jose Foster paced Munster's offense, picking up seven kills. Foster got some help from Austin Spain and his 18 assists. Finally, AJ Horin kept Munster's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Munster's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Andrean, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4.

Coming up, Munster will be playing in front of their home fans against Hobart at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are facing the Brickies at the right time seeing as the Brickies are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Andrean, they will welcome Kankakee Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Fighting 59ers will also cruise into their next match with the timing on their side: the Kougars will have lost eight straight heading into Wednesday's game.
