Volleyball Recap: Sycamore Takes a Loss

If Sycamore was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Stewart County on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The War Eagles fell 3-1 to the Kirkwood Cobras on Wednesday. The War Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cobras apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 23-25, 25-10, 25-19.

Kirkwood found their leader in sophomore Jada Taylor, who had six digs and three aces. Taylor Lyons was another key player, getting eight digs and three assists.

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Kirkwood, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Sycamore has already played their next matchup (against Montgomery Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Kirkwood, they will challenge Christian County at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
