Basketball Recap: Legacy Comes Up Short

Legacy was the 65-51 winner over Highlands Ranch when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lightning lost to the Falcons on the road by a 57-42 margin on Saturday. The contest marked the Lightning's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Legacy still got an impressive performance from Marcus Sias, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devan Kirchhevel, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Highlands Ranch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chace Grengs, who went 6-for-7 on his way to 18 points. Thanks to that strong game, Grengs now owns an excellent 45.5% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was George West III, who shot 50% from the field en route to 11 points.

Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Highlands Ranch, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Legacy will venture away from home to face off against Rocky Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lightning will be up against the Lobos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Highlands Ranch, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 70.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
