Softball Recap: Randolph-Henry Triumphs

After losing to Nottoway the last time they met, Randolph-Henry decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Statesmen came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 5-1 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Statesmen.

Kendall Snead spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.

At the plate, Randolph-Henry let Glenna Vereen and Hadleigh Duffer run wild. Vereen went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Duffer went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Duffer has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Sidney Hamlett, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Randolph-Henry lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.

Randolph-Henry's record is now 6-11. As for Nottoway, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

As of now, neither Randolph-Henry nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
