Softball Recap: Vance County Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Vance County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots on Thursday, falling 14-4.

With the win, American Leadership Academy-Johnston broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vance County will take on Durham School of the Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they will challenge Eastern Wayne at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy-Johnston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
