Volleyball Recap: Mater Academy Charter Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Mater Academy Charter was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of iMater Charter on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monsignor Pace Spartans on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 24-26, 25-14, 25-20.

ANGIE BENOIT paced Mater Academy Charter's offense, picking up 13 kills. BENOIT got some help from JAYLA DELGADO and her four assists. Finally, Sara Del Castillo kept Mater Academy Charter's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Tiffany Mirabal went supernova For Monsignor Pace., getting 14 digs and three aces. Mirabal has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Mater Academy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Monsignor Pace, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Mater Academy Charter will venture away from home to take on Calvary Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monsignor Pace, they will be taking part in a tournament against Medford at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
