Softball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Copper Hills

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverton, Copper Hills was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the West Jordan Jaguars. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won three in a row.

Averi Yazzie was incredible, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Dulce-Liliani Moreno also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Copper Hills pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for West Jordan, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Copper Hills will head out to take on Layton at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for West Jordan, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Taylorsville at 3:30 p.m. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
