Baseball Recap: Leonard Drops Highest Score of Season Against S & S Consolidated

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leonard). Everything went their way against the S & S Consolidated Rams on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Allan Cass made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Logan Sudderth was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Ethan McCarthy was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one stolen base.

Leonard's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8. As for S & S Consolidated, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Leonard will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rams: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
