Basketball Recap: Bayard Tigers vs. Gordon-Rushville Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kimball, the Bayard Tigers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They secured a 47-43 W over Gordon-Rushville. That's another feather in the cap for Bayard, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bayard's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Posey, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Caleb Leonard was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Bayard's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Gordon-Rushville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Bayard won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bobcats at 12:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Hemingford is ranked 224th, while the Tigers are ranked 249th). As for Gordon-Rushville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.
