Baseball Recap: Sherrard Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Newman Central Catholic, Sherrard was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Monmouth-Roseville Titans get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Aidan Terronez made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Harrison Curry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Eli Matson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Sherrard's record now sits at 12-6. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Sherrard will face off against Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they will take on Monmouth United at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Storm's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
