Soccer Game Preview: Hickory vs. Greenville

The Hickory Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Greenville Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Hickory is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Grove City on Monday. Neither the Hornets nor the Eagles could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Greenville managed to keep up with Grove City until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Trojans lost 5-1 to the Eagles. Greenville have struggled against Grove City recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Greenville's goal came courtesy of Bella Whiteman, who's now up to 16 this season.

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1. Hickory's draw makes their record 7-4-1 this season.

Hickory might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Greenville in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
