Smith Center triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Wyatt Overmiller

Recap: Smith Center Redmen vs. Oakley Plainsmen
The third road matchup was the charm for the Smith Center Redmen, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Oakley by a score of 50-37 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Smith Center also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Smith Center can attribute much of their success to Wyatt Overmiller, who scored 16 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Overmiller scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Daveyon Orr, who scored eight points.
Smith Center's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Oakley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Smith Center will square off against Hoxie at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Oakley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wheatland-Grinnell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
