Softball Recap: North Canyon Comes Up Short

North Canyon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Desert Edge Scorpions, falling 15-8. Even though they lost, the Rattlers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Madison Kirby was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ava Hamilton, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

North Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Desert Edge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Canyon will host Kellis at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Kellis has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.43 runs per game on average), something North Canyon will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Desert Edge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
