Baseball Game Preview: Ithaca Bulldogs vs. Weston Silver Eagles

Ithaca has won six straight games at home, while Weston has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Silver Eagles at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ithaca 2.3, Weston 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Ithaca is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Seneca just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 4-2.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Weston sidestepped Riverdale for a 5-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Silver Eagles in their matchups with the Chieftains: they've now won three in a row.

Isaac Jennings made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

Jennings wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Kast, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Weston's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Ithaca, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.
