Basketball Game Preview: Mayville Cardinals vs. Messmer Bishops

The Mayville Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Messmer Bishops at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Messmer took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mayville, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Mayville challenged Campbellsport on Friday. Mayville came out on top against Campbellsport by a score of 40-33.

Meanwhile, Messmer came up short against Brookfield Academy on Friday and fell 44-35. The Bishops have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Messmer's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Mayville, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 4-12.

Mayville strolled past Messmer when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 62-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mayville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
