Volleyball Game Preview: Monticello Magic vs. Annandale Cardinals

The Monticello Magic are taking a road trip to challenge the Annandale Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Monticello not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Big Lake with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Magic haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-9, 25-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monticello to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ada Nelson, who had 15 digs and three assists. That's the most assists Nelson has posted over her last seven matchups. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Sigler, who had 18 assists and six digs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Annandale took on New London-Spicer on Thursday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-1.

Monticello's record now sits at 12-5. As for Annandale, their record is now 14-2.

Monticello beat Annandale 2-0 when the teams last played on September 6th. Do the Magic have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
