Baseball Game Preview: Midwest City Bombers vs. El Reno Indians

The Midwest City Bombers will take on the El Reno Indians in a tournament on Thursday. Midwest City has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Midwest City came up short against Collinsville on Tuesday, falling 15-3. The loss continues a trend for the Bombers in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, El Reno came up short against Carl Albert on Tuesday and fell 4-1. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Davin Shamblin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, El Reno saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyson Jenkins, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

El Reno's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4-2. As for Midwest City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Midwest City came out on top in a nail-biter against El Reno when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Bombers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
