Softball Recap: Bradley Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Howard Tech last Tuesday, Bradley Central came back down to earth. The Bears fell just short of the McMinn County Cherokees by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cherokees earlier this season, when they won 16-9.

Karly Farkas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Lynlee Hodge was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Bradley Central now has a losing record of 9-10-1. As for McMinn County, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bradley Central will challenge Chattanooga Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for McMinn County, they will face off against Roane County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
