Basketball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 70-33 loss at the hands of the Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-32 back in November of 2024.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Center Point-Urbana, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will head out to square off against Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Point-Urbana has already played their next game (against Solon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
